The history of my car is very simple, This car
I bought it to a gentleman that had it kept ago but of 10 years in a
parking.
When seeing this beautiful Dodge (although it was not very well of painting
and cans) I decided to offer him I change for a 1954 1954 Mercury monterrey
that it had for restoration, but that it was in very bad state.
There it was like the task began of restoring my Dodge. I began to discover
the data of the engine, the accessories, the technical characteristics,
to look for pictures and all kinds of data. I looked for in internet,
I visited several cemeteries of cars in Medellin and other cities of
Colombia, I traveled warehouses of reserves, I spoke with collectors
and restoring.
I wrote to several experts of this car type (to you, to the Chrysler
museum, to Robert Bishop, to Doug Osborn, among other) I Got the specifications
of the car, the colors with which it left factory and many other data.
look for the pieces that you/they lacked and I got some, others went
necessary to send them to manufacture and other it manufactures them
myself (emblems mainly). I bought some pieces in the external one and
it was this way taking form until the current state.
They still lack some details. as the back boseles of the back panoramic
glass, the boseles of the trunk (carries baggage), the plastic insert
of the front emblem, a cover of the wheels, etc.
Finished this car will continue with my other one spoilt. It is a 1948
Plymouth Special Deluxe. This will have a little more than work, because
he lacks but you detail that to the dodge, but the degree of difficulty
should increase with the experience so that it is pleasant.
Thank you again for all the collaboration that you have lent me.
I take advantage to comment to you that the next one August 4, as every
year in August, it will be carried out here in Medellin the parade of
classic and old cars that will travel the main streets of the city.
I will send some pictures of the event.
Best regards,
Jaime I.
